Nanotailor produces SWNTs without the use of a metal catalyst utilizing a unique patented plasma enhanced CVD process. Thereby reducing post production treatments and keeping the molecules core carbon structure intact.

Glossary of Terms

Reactor - a device that produces a product from reactants. Reactors are set at a specific setting in order to operate optimally.

Reactant - the material(s) introduced into a reactor in order to generate products.

Electrode - a material that allows the conduction of electricity.

Coolant - a fluid that is used to remove excessive heat from a system.

Catalyst - a material that makes a reaction happen more easily and/or improves the speed of a reaction.

Micron/Micrometer - a unit of length in the metric system representing one one-millionth of a meter.

Quantum Science - a field of study of the interactions at the atomic and subatomic level such as molecules, atoms, electrons, positrons and other subatomic particles.

Functionalization - A process by which molecules or atoms are bound to the carbon atoms of a SWNT. Functionalization is necessary to mix or blend SWNTs into materials such as composites and typically SWNTs require additional processing before they can be used.
